More about Tam O Shanter...

The roses are loosely formed and held on long branches that arch gracefully to the ground. The wonderful, cupped shaped flowers appear all the way down the cane, similar to a Species rose.

This English rose is very healthy growing, produces mostly solitary flowers, and blooms in flushes all season.

It is listed under a red-blend shrub rose.

It can grow quite large, to 6 feet, and has beautifully arching canes, filled with flowers.

Because the flowers are loose and informal, this beautiful rose bush would be great for an informal garden, a cottage garden, or even planted in a mixed border. It also makes a nice rose for a pillar, and is great for cutting. Learn how to make cut flowers last longer.

The rose Tam O'Shanter, was named in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robbie Burns (Tam O'Shanter is the hero of the poem)
