Rose and Walnut Hand Cream

This recipe for rose and walnut hand cream is a natural skin cream that will soften and moisturize your hands overnight. It is easy to make, and well worth the time to make your own homemade hand cream with no preservatives.

As gardeners, we know better than anone how much abuse the weather and daily garden activities our hands are exposed to. This can make them rough, dry, and cause them to age prematurely. So why not help to protect and heal them with a soothing lotion you made yourself? I am always loking for new ways to use the roses from my garden. Sure, they're pretty to look at in the garden, but there are plenty of ways to use them elsewhere! I'm also a fanatic about going "Organic" , so being able to use my roses for these projects in organic concoctions are key.

On to the recipe....

What you will Need

  • soft cotton gloves
  • 4 Tablespoons grated natural beeswax
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup Walnut oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Rose Flower water

How to Make it

  • 1. Mix Coconut oil, Walnut oil and Beeswax in a heatproof measuring cup.
  • 2. Microwave on high for about 2 minutes or until ingredients are liquified.
  • 3. Add the rose flower water and stir.
  • 4. Pour mixture into a clean jar with a tight fitting lid.

Let mixture cool completely before using.

Note: If you don't have the time, or resources to make the Rose water, substitute a few drops of the Essential Rose Oil.

How to Use it

This wonderful cream will soften and moisturize your hands magically while you sleep.

At bedtime, massage some into your skin. Do not wash off. Cover your hands with clean cotton gloves to seal the moisture in overnight. (You'll be making this lotion for gifts, when your family discovers your oh-so-soft hands).
