Rose Hand Lotion

Recipe for Homemade Hand Lotion

Recipe for Rose Hand Lotion made from rose water and oil of roses, make this homemade hand cream a luxurious, soothing emollient. The roses give it a wonderful fragrance, while the beeswax and lanolin make it rich and creamy. The nourishing ingredients are quickly absorbed into the skin to benefit even the driest hands. Treat yourself or delight a friend with this all-natural, preservative-free creamy rose hand lotion.

Sweetly Scented Hand Cream

This creamy homemade hand cream contains only the purest ingredients. Why but expensive skin creams with ingredients you can't pronounce? You can easily make your own from natural products and be assured of its quality.

The ingredients can be found at a pharmacy or your local health food store. You will need a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature while you make it.(easy to do)

What You Will Need:

  • 2 tsp. beeswax pastilles
  • 2 Tablespoons Lanolin
  • 1/3 cup Wheat Germ Oil
  • 3 drops Essential Oil Of Roses
  • 1/3 cup Rose Water
  • Candy Thermometer

Recipe makes about 7 ozs.

How to Make It

  • 1. Put Lanolin and Beeswax in a heat proof bowl, and carefully set in a pan of boiling water. Stir with a glass rod to melt and blend. (do not use a wooden spoon, as it will absorb the oils)
  • 2. Slowly pour in the wheat germ oil, using a steady stream, and stirring constantly as you pour.
  • 3. Put the candy thermometer in the mixture and heat to 160 degrees F.
  • 4. Add rose water slowly, a little at a time, and stir until the mixture thickens.
  • 5. Using the candy thermometer, let mixture cool to 105 degrees F., then add 3 drops of rose oil, and stir thouroughly.
  • 6. Remove mixture from water bath.
  • 7. As mixture cools, stir until cream thickens and turns white and smooth.
  • Transfer to clean small jars while cream is still warm. Store sealed jars in a cool place.
This homemade Rose Hand Lotion will last for up to 3 months in a cool place (do not place in direct sunlight) Stir before using.
