Molineux Rose

Golden English Roses

The Molineux rose has golden yellow petals that open wide to reveal deeper colored centers of an apricot/peach blend. Occasionally there will be a dark pink patch in the center. The rosette shaped flowers open flat. It is a striking rose with approximately 120 petals. Blooms come in clusters of 3-9 per cluster.

The lightly cupped rosettes fade to lemon yellow with creamy edges, with age. Actually the color is always quite variable, and always most pleasing on the rose bush.

These lovely English roses are great for a hedge, or in a border. Or just plant them in the garden, in the front of the rose bed, or a mixed flower bed. They perform exceptionally well all season, producing flowers well in both hot and cold climate zones. (Hot climates can expect this rose to grow much larger) The bush will continue to produce flowers even through the hot Summer months.

This rose makes a nice hedge, or border rose, because of the upright, short growth. It grows very bushy. It would also be very useful in a smaller garden. It is one of the more compact growing roses of David Austin’s roses. It is also much more free-flowering than some of the Austin yellow roses such as “Graham Thomas”
