Medallion Rose

Apricot Hybrid Tea Roses

The Medallion Rose has the softest shade of clear apricot. This Hybrid Tea rose has huge flowers that are double and full.

Long pointed buds unfurl to become the most beautiful, sweet scented Hybrid Tea flowers. This is an excellent rose for cutting. It makes a most beautiful cut flower, with a long vase life. (Buds open slowly, so cut the flowers before fully opened, to extend the vase life even more.) Pair your bouquet with some Baby's Breath, and you have a delicate, sweet bouquet!

Type Hybrid Tea Rose

Hybridizer Warriner (USA) 1973

Blooms Soft, clear apricot flowers are 6-8", with a petal count of 25-35 petals

Growth Habits Bush grows tall, upright, vigorous, and well branched. It can grow to a height of 5', with a width of around 4'.

Foliage Dark, leathery foliage

Fragrance sweet, fruity fragrance

Awards Portland Gold medal 1972, AARS 1973

Hardy Zone zones 6-10

These apricot hybrid tea roses thrive in hot weather. They do well in warmer climates. They will require winter protection where temperatures drop below 20 degrees F. The bush produces profuse midseason bloom with good repeat flowering.

A very healthy growing, repeat flowering bush with abundant foliage. This soft, sweet scented "Medallion" is relatively disease resistant. It's parents (South Seas, and King's Randsom), are both terffic roses as well. It seems the rose has not be introduced to many countries outside the USA.
