Take a few minutes from your busy day to prepare this soothing foot bath (homemade cosmetics) made with rose petals, lavender blossoms and rosemary. It will gently stimulate blood circulation and help recharge your feet after a long and demanding day.
This recipe makes 2 (1 pint bottles)) of homemade bath salts.
Use only organically grown rose petals (pesticide and chemical free)
If you don't grow Lavender and Rosemary, you will find them available at your local Health food store. Epson Salts are available at the Pharmacy or even your local Walmart or Grocery store. Now buy your favorite Health and Beauty brands online for less at Walmart.com
What you will Need
- 2 lbs. Epsom Salts
- 5 fresh fragrant roses
- 10 sprigs Rosemary
- 10 sprigs lavender
10 drops lavender Oil
How to Make it
- 1. Carefully remove petals from roses
- 2. Gently remove Lavender Blossoms, and Rosemary leaves from sprigs
- 3. Put Epson Salts in a non metallic bowl. Top with Rosemary, Lavender and Rose petals.
- 4. Slowly drip the Lavender oil over ingredients.
- 5. Carefully mix ingredients, stirring with a spoon (not a wooden spoon, it will absorb the lavender oil). Then rapidly stir to distribute evenly.
- 6. Pour bath salts mixture into pretty glass bottles and seal tightly with stopper or tight fitting lid.
Note You can replace the Lavender with Lemon Verbena, or add a few of your favorite Herbs. Small thyme leaves are a nice addition.
How to Use it
For one foot bath: Pour 3 tablespoons of bath salts into 1 quart of very hot water. Let mixture cool to desired temperature. Enjoy!
This would make a lovely gift! Choose an interesting shaped bottle, and tie a small note card to it with directions for use. Attach it to the bottle with a pretty ribbon. Add a soft wash cloth, and tie it all together with raffia.
