Hansa rose, is a compact, strong-growing Rugosa rose with vibrant magenta blooms and orange hips in the Fall. This old-timmer 'Hansa' is one of the most rugged and appealing roses for your garden.

Rugosa roses are very disease resistant and tolerant of just about any kind of adversity. This rose offers three seasons of interest with blooms and fruit! It makes a wonderful rose for a hedge, or use it in the back of the garden, as a back drop for the other roses.

Blooms The 30 petal 3-4" double red/violet colored blooms,are flushed with mauve.

Growth Habits The bush grows upright. It becomes a dense shrub with thorny canes. Height is 4-5 feet.

Hansa Rose, also known as hardy Rugosa shrub roses, make nice pink hedge roses. They have a delicious, sweet, clove scent.

This very tough yet beautiful, 'Hansa' has been a favorite Rugosa for over a century. It boasts handsome foliage and glorious magenta blooms that have a sweet fragrance reminiscent of cloves.

These hardy Rugosa roses make a splendid specimen for the back of the border, they also make an eye-popping Pink hedge rose when planted en mass.

You can expect profuse early to midsummer bloom with good repeat, on this hardy shrub rose. They bloom all season long.(The blooming time is June-September.)

This rose responds well to pruning, making it a good hedge rose. You can keep it trimmed to what ever height you like. Clip it down short, or let it grow tall, it excels either way. This Rosa is a very hardy rose, (zones 3-9)and a good choice for northern climates.They will grow under difficult conditions, even when exposed to salt winds and spray.

As a bonus, these Hybrid Rugosa roses produce large red hips in the fall. Those hips are perfect for making Rose Hip Tea
