I would be lost without my rose garden books for inspiration, or when I want to build a new garden. I use my rose books when I want to look up specific varieties, or find information on one I'm thinking of adding to the garden. If you want to add a fence, arbor or pergola, it's nice to see pictures for inspiration. Knowing how shrubs and hedges will look in your garden (before) you plant them is a good idea!
If a picture is worth a thousand words, these books will be priceless to you. Just reading a description of a specific rose doesn't always cut it. It's nice to actually see a picture, and get more information on it. Web information is great, but every once in a while, I'll take my book right out to the garden (or the garden of a friend) to help identify a certain rose. Don't be afraid to expand your library of books. (I am always on the look out for reasonably priced books) on roses, and gardening in general. New roses are being introduced all the time, so it's best to keep up-to-date with new books every so often.
